V/S

Hey lovely ladies!!!! In today’s blog we will be discussing eyeliner. Sharp vs. Smudgy. Eye liner is so important to any make up look as it can give it a clean, crisp finish, or a soft sexy seductive edge. So which one do you prefer? I would like to officially welcome you to Liner 101. Here is a chart of different liners from basic to the most dramatic glam looks and their names.

In my opinion your liner should be appropriate to the event, as well as the overall look you are going for. For instance, in a professional setting where you might wanna spice up your look, go for a sharper liner. It’s clean, and if it’s black it will give beautiful definition to the eye without over dramatizing them. I think it’s pretty safe to say that the sharper liner is nice for a day time look. Although it may be worn day or night, I think the heavier the liner and more drama it moves into evening wear. Here are some examples of the sharp liner:

I love this dramatic sharp liner. So clean, but super fierce!!! Sharp liner may be achieved by using a pencil, cream liner or a liner pen. If you opt for a cream or gel liner, be sure to use a fine point or angle brush if one is not provided with the liner. I have found that if you prefer the darker, heavier tend to deposit and retain more pigment than pencil. However, pencils provide a smooth finish as well as a more natural enhancement. The above tips should help you get a bit more wear out of a pencil, or cream liner.

Ok, next up in the battle of the liners: Smudgy liner. Ok, ok, I gotta be honest with you, smudgy liner is my favorite. I like the softness of it. There’s a soft sexiness that it adds to a look. It’s a look that can be worn all alone with a nice bold lip, or it can add a bit of dramatic glam to any look. Here are some examples:

OMG….soooo much fierceness!!! I love it. This look may be achieved using a cream or gel liner and simply smudging it to soften it. I like to set mine with a pigment or a black eye shadow to make sure it doesn’t crease, and improve blendability. So ladies, after further consideration, what’s your preference? If you’ve never tried one or both of these styles of liner, why not give it a whirl? Use the chart above to expand your knowledge base, as well as for inspiration. Thanks so much for reading dolls!!!
