Winter time can be the worst time of the year for dry hair, skin and nails. Due to the cold, dry air, our skin tends to dry out and become rough and flaky. For that reason, here are 4 skincare tips to help you get past this winter.

  1. Always use moisturizer

After using cleanser and toner, always be sure to apply moisturizer. Moisturizer helps protect your skin from the cold and cures dry skin that can flare up during the winter. Moisturizer can also be applied before your makeup to help lock in the essential oils.

  1. Use a non-drying/non foaming cleanser

Using a cleanser that may contain salicylic acid or that foams up when you use it isn’t always the best for winter. Due to the cold, our skin becomes a lot drier, so it’s important to use a cleanser that doesn’t disturb the acidic pH of your skin.

  1.  Use a gentle exfoliator

Using an exfoliator twice a week helps to remove the build-up of dead skin cells that are blocking the moisturizing ingredients from getting through. It can also help brighten your skin.

  1. Use an overnight mask

If you don’t find that your moisturizer is doing the trick, use an overnight mask to help deliver hydration to your skin while you sleep.
