DIY FACE MASKS
BY: MY MAKEUP BRUSH SET BLOG
Instead of spending a few dollars for a face mask or even forty dollars for a bottle, there are products around the house that can do the EXACT same thing. Believe it or not?! Give these facial masks a try. Nothing fancy here, all you need to do is dig around the kitchen to look for *most* of these products
Different products help with different types of problems. For example, if you suffer from redness or wrinkles, there are different ingredients that can help with this, PLUS ITS NATURAL! And a lot of it is also edible! Whole fruits and vegetables are what a lot of these recipes aim for. Some really helps with anti-aging, and there is also vitamin C that can fight free radicals, prevent wrinkles, and give you firmer, younger-looking skin.
Red/Rough Skin Mask:
1/2 Cucumber, Pureed in a food blender,1/4 Cup Of Milk, 1 Tablespoon Honey, 1 Tablespoon Brown Sugar
Cucumber is the key to cooling which helps with reducing redness. This mask smells divine, and also the whole complete spa feels. The brown sugar helps with gentle exfoliation making the face softer!
Oily Skin Mask:
1/2 cup cooked oatmeal, 1 egg, 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Oatmeal is also another great use to soothe the skin and get rid of redness. Although not as effective as cucumber. Oatmeal works great with lemon juice because it helps remove excess oil and dead skill cells.
Anti Aging Mask:
Pomegranate Seeds, Uncooked Oatmeal, Turbinado Sugar, Plain Yogurt Olive Oil
In a food processor, combine 2 tablespoons of pomegranate seeds and 1 cup uncooked oatmeal. Transfer to bowl; stir in 2 tablespoons honey (an antiseptic) and 2 tablespoons buttermilk. Apply to face for a few minutes, then rinse. For rough patches (like elbows), add ¾ cup turbinado sugar.
The seeds of pomegranate are loaded with anti-aging compounds, like antioxidants and vitamin C, that’s why it’s super useful when it comes to beauty regimen! Since the seeds a bit rough, it works as a superb scrub!
Yogurt is also helpful! (Very common and easy too!)
Yogurt contains lactic acid, or in plain terms, it means that it helps clear blemishes, discoloration, and reduces fine wrinkles!
Mix 1 cup Greek yogurt with 2 to 3 drops of almond or olive oil and a tablespoon of honey; apply to face, leave on for 20 to 30 minutes, then rinse and pat dry.
Now that you know what these ingredients are used for or how they help the skin, you can also try mixing different ingredients together to match your skin. For example cucumber with honey works really well if you are looking to get rid of blemish and blotches!
